Media Advocacy
Moyo wa Taifa utilises media advocacy as a vibrant tool for empowerment and raising consciousness on local and global issues. We are engaged in activist media advocacy as panellists, resource persons and socio-political commentators. Moyo wa Taifa has since acquired a reputation as a frontline and cutting edge media resource organisation both in the UK and in Ghana.
Exhibition
Moyo wa Taifa has developed a niche for creating inspiring socio historical, cultural and contemporary educational exhibitions on Afrika and Afrikans. Forthcoming exhibitions include work to commemorate the centenary of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah (1909-2009) and on Nigeria @ 50 (1960-2010).
Networking
Mayibuye Afrika Study Tours (MAST)
An educational, cultural and networking program of study tours to learn about and engage with Afrika from an Afrikan perspective, MAST offers a unique journey to visit and experience the dynamism of Afrika!
Coalition Building
Over the years, Moyo wa Taifa has been involved in joint work on various coalition building and networking initiatives with sister groups and partner organisations on the Continent and in the Diaspora. Some of these include; Afrikan Liberation Support Campaign (UK), Afrikan People’s Platform (Ghana) Amnesty Campaign for Refugees and Unregistered Migrants (UK) Global Afrikan Congress (Europe), November 5th Coalition (UK) International Tribunal on Reparations for Afrikan People (Europe) Jubilee 2000 Ghana Coalition (Ghana), Jubilee 2000 Afrika Campaign (Afrika) Nkrumah @ 100 Coalition (UK), Pan Afrikan United Front (Ghana) Pan Afrikan Women’s Forum (UK), Refugee Women’s Forum (UK).
Solidarity
Moyo Solidarity Centre (s)
Conceptualised as a multi-purpose community resource space and capacity building facility for activists, organizers, institutions and organisations, the 1st Moyo Centre is a work-in-progress. Established to strengthen institutional and organisational capacities for Pan Afrikan development, the Solidarity Centre aims to foster communication links and international networks.
Pan Afrikan Solidarity Fora
Moyo wa Taifa organises public meetings and international fora for visiting activists, groups and organisations to interact, inform and provide updates on critical issues affecting Afrika and Afrikans. These include public fora on Angola, Azania South Afrika, Congo DRC, Ghana, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan and Zimbabwe amongst others. We have also hosted fraternal delegations from Ethiopia, Jamaica, Namibia, Surinam, Uganda and the USA.
Our outreach work within the global Afrikan community and the wider world includes national and international speaking engagements in Afrika, Europe, North America and the Caribbean. Moyo wa Taifa organises and facilitates annual commemorations of historic dates including Afrikan Liberation Day (May), Emancipation Day (August) and Pan Afrikan Women’s Day (August).
